The God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you.

Changes to Restoration Center

The Restoration Center has been up and running throughout the pandemic and we have been creative and flexible in both trying to serve the folks who need food and clothing while also keeping them and our volunteers and our staff safe. With the Governor’s most recent order, we need to shift again.

The meal will continue to be served “to-go” style every Monday at 11:30 a.m. We will limit the number of volunteers and there will only be seating for folks who are too frail to carry their food away. We know folks rely on the Monday meals and we feel that they can be continued in the safest ways possible.

The Free Store will go to a by appointment or by emergency only shopping model. If folks would like to make an appointment to shop they should call Karen Knox at 612-870-4416. Due to the reduction in shoppers we will need to reduce our donation volume for the time being. We will receive donations at our regular hours (Sunday through Thursday 9:00-11:00 a.m.) and beginning Sunday, November 22 we will only be accepting winter gear as donations. Winter gear includes things like coats, hats, boots and snowpants.

The Augsburg Central Health Commons will continue to run it’s regular hours of Mondays and Thursday 10:00-11:30 a.m. for low impact nursing needs.

At this time all Street Voices of Change activities are suspended due to the Governor’s order, so that we can keep each other as safe as we can.

We are doing our part at Central to still provide the basic services folks need while trying to maintain safety and being people who hear the call to feed the hungry and clothe the naked seriously. If you have any questions or concerns about the Restoration Center, please reach out to Pastor Melissa at mpohlman@centralmpls.org.
