Worship
The 8:30 a.m. Sunday worship is an intimate “First Light” service with Holy Communion. It features hymns and the Word, musically enriched by vocal soloists. It is a full communion service led by the Casavant organ or the piano. One of the pastors preaches, and another presides for worship and communion. A member of the…
Worship
The 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship has the largest attendance. During the program year (September–May), this is a choir-led festive service with Holy Communion. It is a communion service rooted in Lutheran liturgy and hymns. One of the pastors preaches, and another presides for worship. Congregation members serve as the assisting minister and the lesson readers.…
Sunday Community Meal
We gather each Sunday after the 10:30 a.m. worship in the Great Room to share a meal. The menu changes week to week. On holiday weekends, coffee, cookies, and lemonade are served instead of a meal.
Summer on the Plaza
Summer on the Plaza happens several times each summer, when guest carillonneurs visit Central to perform a concert, and we invite food trucks (or provide treats) for all to enjoy.
Central Cares for Creation Team
The Central Cares for Creation Team works hard to help the congregation be as eco-friendly as possible, to educate the congregation about eco-issues, and to identify areas for the church to engage in advocacy around climate justice. Meeting Room: Nativity

Worship (Sa)
Saturday evening worship is a contemplative communion service. Whichever pastor is preaching on Sunday, preaches and leads worship on Saturday night. The service is guided by a contemplative sense: a slower pace, room for silence, and a simpler service order. The altar is on the main floor, and much of the music is led from…
