Who We Are

Exploring the promise of God for all.

Central Lutheran was founded to be a place of ministry and mission in downtown Minneapolis. Grounded in the love of God made known in Jesus Christ, the current mission statement guides us.

Worship
This mission area cluster centers on welcome, hospitality, and the central act of the Church as the people of God gather for corporate worship.

Lifelong Faith Formation
This mission area cluster centers on lifelong faith formation where all can develop a closer relationship with God and deepen their call for mission.

Community
This mission area cluster centers on welcoming all into life-giving community where relationships are fostered and a range of human needs are met.

Generosity for Mission
This mission area cluster centers on the invitation for every child of God to share their gifts of time, abilities, and finances for the sake of God’s mission in the world.

“You Are Welcome. No Exceptions.”

At Central, these aren’t just words we say. They’re something we’re continually growing into together. Grounded in Christ’s love, we strive to be a community where everyone feels a true sense of belonging, a place that feels like home.

Here, people are known, cared for, and invited to show up as their full selves, celebrating joys, carrying burdens, and building real, meaningful connections with one another.

Through worship, service, and everyday acts of care, we seek to extend Christ’s love beyond our walls and into the world around us. We’re not perfect, but we are committed—to listening, to learning, and to standing alongside those seeking justice, compassion, and hope.

And along the way, we trust that God is at work in us, shaping us, and calling us to love more deeply.

On behalf of the Central Congregation Council,
Allison Eger, 2026 Congregation President

You are welcome. No exceptions.

Central Lutheran Church experiences God’s expansive love and strives to share it abundantly. We affirm all people without regard to age, race, biological sex, housing status, ethnicity, sexual orientation, immigration, refugee or migration status, gender identity or expression, socioeconomic status, and physical or mental health or ability. All are a part of God’s family, created in God’s image.

We strive to practice radical hospitality with all people and work toward racial equity. Everyone is invited to immerse themselves in the life of this community of faith as we explore the promise of God for all.

Central Lutheran Church is a Reconciling in Christ congregation.
