Resources for Prayer
Prayer at its essence is both a listening for God and offering prayers for healing, hope, confession, restoration, justice, and peace. Prayer assumes God is always present and at work in our daily lives. In prayer we slow down into God’s presence. In prayer we offer our hopes, dreams, fears, and need to God.
Prayer Activities at Central
Central Lutheran offers a number of ways to support your prayer life and deeper contemplative spirituality. Every second Sunday, a contemplative prayer group gathers to listen for God. Pastor Peter generally leads this time, grounded in one of the historic contemplative prayer practices.
The Prayer Ministry Team offers a spiritual lending library, prayer shawls, prayer retreats, and seasonal prayer offerings. These seasonal offerings might consist of different prayer stations in the sanctuary, stations like prayers around the font, prayers for the world, visio divina, and a prayer labyrinth.
On the third weekend of the month, prayer team members are available after the 5 p.m. Saturday worship and the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship for healing prayer in the prayer space at the back of the sanctuary.
