Children, Youth, and Families
Children are natural learners who absorb everything. In Children, Youth, and Family Ministry (CYF), we provide opportunities for children as young as one month to begin learning God’s amazing love.

Cradle Roll and Nursery
Once we know of your little one’s arrival, you’ll start receiving a monthly newsletter called Splash. Capturing a beautiful image of baptism, Splash contains articles that highlight music, books, and daily activities that plant seeds of faith. Each mailing of Splash is accompanied by a letter from one of the pastors with timely information about church activities for young families.
Central’s nursery is open every Sunday from 9:30 a.m. through the 10:30 a.m. worship service. The nursery is staffed by Emmie Brenke and volunteers from our high school youth group. Emmie loves children and connects with them through age-appropriate activities such as coloring and playing with toys. The nursery is a wonderful place to start learning.

Intergenerational Learning
Remembering that children are like little sponges yearning for information and knowledge, these intergenerational learning opportunities open the door for us to connect across generations, sharing stories and experiences of God and God’s people through conversation and hands-on learning. Often perceived as ‘Craft Sunday, ’ the crafty element of our time together serves as a learning tool to connect and bridge learning and relationship. These Intergenerational Learning opportunities occur 3-4 times each year. We always gather at the beginning of Advent for the Advent Fair and again at Palm Sunday to make Peeps dioramas. All are welcome to join in!
Winter Family Festival
In 2024, we introduced something new at Central for children and families: the Winter Family Festival! In January each year, to break up the winter blues, you are invited to join us for an indoor play day with a bouncy house, face painting and balloon art, a DJ dance party, and more! Crafted for kids of all ages, parents and children are welcome to come for a morning of indoor play where it’s warm inside and cold outside. After a morning of fun and activity, we’ll have a kid-friendly lunch together and celebrate what it means to be church together.
