Our Central Cares for Creation (C3) Team, in conjunction with the non-profit Friends of Triangle Park, has been rejuvenating a 3,000-square-foot pollinator garden in Triangle Park (Triangle Park is between the on-/off-ramps of Hwy 65/I-35 and south of 10th Street). To commemorate this effort, Triangle Park is now listed as a “Homegrown National Park,” an effort inspired by entomologist, ecologist, and author Doug Tallamy. His work has helped to catalyze people to plant native and remove invasive plant species at home and in their communities, one of the most impactful actions anyone can take to restore and protect the natural habitats that support all life.
You can do this, too, on your own property. It’s easy, smart, and great stewardship of our planet. You can visit the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources website for help. They have valuable information about invasive plant species and planting native plants.
