A Place to Share All of Life

A church home is a place where we share all of life. As people of faith, called and gathered by the Holy Spirit, we show up in God’s presence on the good days and the not-so-good days. We gather week in and week out. That is how we share all of life in relationship with God and one another.

Last weekend in worship, we prayed for a newly married couple, an adorable baby that was baptized, and in sorrow because a long-time member died unexpectedly. Together, here at our church home, we shared in all of life. How else can we journey as people of faith, if not together in the joy, wonder, and sorrow of it all?

This weekend, we gather for the Blue Christmas service on Saturday night. We gather to create a place to grieve and name that this time of year is not all joy and happiness. Here in this place, we share all of life. On Sunday morning at the 10:30 a.m. service, the Sunday School kids share the Christmas story. We gather for that joy and celebration because we share all of life.

As Advent now turns to Christmas, once again we hear the story of how God comes to share all of life with us. We listen for the angels, the infant’s cry in the manger, and the promise that Jesus arrives to lead us home.

Thank you for all the ways you respond to God’s call to gather for worship, learning, community, and generosity. It is a true gift that we gather in this place and call it our church home.

Yours in Christ Jesus,
Pastor Peter
