High School Youth
Learning
September through April, high school students are invited to participate in Sunday morning learning. More social in format, it’s an opportunity for educational conversations with peers. News headlines and everyday events are just a few of the topics we discuss. Understanding some of life’s challenges through a Christian lens guides our learning.
Volunteering
High school students are encouraged to deepen their connections at Central through volunteering. Volunteering may look good on a resumé or a college application, but also, research shows that one of the best indicators of kids’ continuing a life of faith is found in their “hands-on” activities in church. From Vacation Bible School to helping in the nursery or assisting with worship services, there are many ways to get involved.
Group Trips and Outdoor Learning
Summer adventures are a remarkable way to continue forming faith in high school. Students entering 8th grade and through 12th grade are invited to participate in the ELCA National Youth Gathering and travel to outdoor ministry partners like Amnicon in Wisconsin and Christikon in Montana. Led by Pastor Stephanie with adult volunteers, these wonderful excursions move kids out of their everyday lives and into places where God is notably present.
