The Twin Cities have always been home to me. I have a degree in English Education from the University of Minnesota and a Divinity degree from Luther Seminary.
The best part of working at Central is the people. The diversity and the presence of the Holy Spirit fills me every day. I especially love coordinating learning for all ages and finding ways to help each person experience resurrection as a part of daily living. I also love the opportunity to work with children and youth. They fill me with joy and give me hope.
As I get older, I am captivated by spending time with people from generations other than my own. Knowing that we are shaped by our life experiences is essential to understanding one another. Making connections with folks who’ve lived a life different from mine helps foster understanding and creates space for listening and learning.
My husband, Dean, and I are parents to Sam and Jack, our two adult children. We live in Deephaven (about 20 miles west of downtown Minneapolis). We have a black lab named Beau who keeps us busy with daily walks and swimming in the summer.
I cherish my outside time. Whether gardening, walking, or sitting outside with friends, any activity that allows me to get outside makes my heart sing. Dean and I enjoy hiking, boating, fishing, and hanging out with our kids.
If you could live anywhere in the world for one year, where would you choose and why?
I’d live next to a National Park where I could hike and explore on the daily. I’d choose a National Park like Glacier or Yellowstone, but any National Park would do.
