I was born the youngest of three girls in Minot, North Dakota, but grew up in Valley City, ND. I graduated from Valley City High School, and from Valley City State University with a B.S. in Secondary Education, majoring in Business Education and English.
I taught Business Education for five years in Blue Earth, MN, before moving to the Cities. Since then, I have worked as an office manager for Computer Applications (a computer store), church business administrator for Community of the Cross Lutheran Church, Bloomington, and administrator for call process/roster for the Minneapolis Area Synod. I currently concentrate on Central’s database and church directory, and as Assistant to Finance for the last 8 years.
I love everything about working at Central. This is the healthiest staff I have ever worked with, one that does its best serving others while having a good time together. Also, having worked in the church for over 30 years, I’ve seen how a faith community supports and helps each other. As an Enneagram type 2, I am a Helper and do as much as I can for those I work with/for in this position.
After raising our family in Bloomington, MN, my spouse, Bill, and I moved to downtown Minneapolis 16 years ago. Bill is also in accounting. We have two grown children: Alyssa (married to Nick, grandpuppy Bjorn, and grandsons Oscar Nicholas and Russell Ronan) and Jared (married to Andrea, grandpuppy Elly, and 12-year-old granddaughter Lizzie Louise).
We like to travel, mainly to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where we recharge our batteries and collect Vitamin D. I also like to read, being a member of a monthly book club of friends. Right now, my main hobby is caregiver to Russell on Fridays and Lizzie anytime when school’s out and she’s free! It is the best!
I’m just proud and very grateful for my life as a wife, mother, sister, friend, co-worker, and church member. I am proud of everything that is Central! I’m glad we’re here!
If you could live anywhere in the world for one year, where would you choose and why?
I’d live in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the place we most like to vacation.
