Columbarium

Learn about Central Lutheran Church, including our mission, our ministries, our worship, and other ways to get involved.

What is a Columbarium?

A columbarium is essentially a cemetery for cremated remains of loved ones. The Central Columbarium has 432 double niches, each holding two urns. After burial, the name of the loved one is inscribed on the marble marker for the specific niche.

This serene space in the Lower Narthex offers a final resting place that is not only beautiful but also deeply rooted in the care and love of our church family.

History of the Central Columbarium

The Columbarium was created in 2012 with the installation of the first call of niches. Many enhancements to the Columbarium have taken place recently. This includes the installation of the third wall of niches, wallpaper, lighting, elegant furniture, and flexible plant stands.

Our Columbarium is more than just a resting place; it’s a tranquil haven where memories are cherished and legacies are honored. The beauty and peace of this sacred space reflect the love we share as a community.

Acquire a Niche

If you are interested in purchasing a niche, the first step is to schedule a visit to the columbarium and select your niche. Columbarium pricing varies row by row. It begins at $2,300 and goes up to $2,600. Each niche price includes two urns and engraving.

When someone purchases a double niche, the funds are held in escrow for the burial and care of the remains in perpetuity.

If you are interested in learning more about the columbarium or purchasing a niche, please reach out to Michael Acuña Dee, Life Passages Coordinator.
