The OWLS (Older, Wiser Lutheran Seniors)
Building and sustaining community is at the core of everything we do at Central. One of the ways seniors can nurture relationships is through OWLS (Older, Wiser Lutheran Seniors) events. From museum tours to local performances and outdoor events, there’s something for everyone.
OWLS Events
OWLS events are planned and scheduled by the OWLS team. Each month, we organize an outing that includes transportation from the church, a meal and an event. There is a small cost for those who attend, though we try to make the trips affordable for all. Brochures of upcoming events are available at the Welcome Desk.
Event Sign-up
If you’re interested in joining, we ask that you sign up ahead of time. Each month, there are designated Sundays for OWLS sign-ups. This information is easily found in the weekly Spirit newsletter and e-newsletter. Volunteers at the Welcome Desk can provide more information and help you get your name on the list for an upcoming outing.
Volunteer
We’re always looking for volunteers to help plan OWLS trips. If you’re an organizer or if you love exploring new places, consider joining the OWLS planning team. We also need volunteers on sign-up Sundays at the Welcome Desk.
