Who We Are
Exploring the promise of God for all.
Central Lutheran was founded to be a place of ministry and mission in downtown Minneapolis. Grounded in the love of God made known in Jesus Christ, the current mission statement guides us.

Lifelong Faith Formation
This mission area cluster centers on lifelong faith formation where all can develop a closer relationship with God and deepen their call for mission.
Community
This mission area cluster centers on welcoming all into life-giving community where relationships are fostered and a range of human needs are met.
Generosity for Mission
This mission area cluster centers on the invitation for every child of God to share their gifts of time, abilities, and finances for the sake of God’s mission in the world.

“You Are Welcome. No Exceptions.”
These words express the mission of Central, which is guided by the radical love of Christ and expressed through service, compassion, and a commitment to inclusivity – a legacy established by the Central founders 100 years ago.
We strive to be a community where people from all walks of life are not only welcomed but truly seen, valued, and loved. We welcome without judgment as a place to stand for justice and peace and to grow in faith and understanding.
As we walk alongside those on the margins of life, we are deeply graced by their presence, learning, growing, and being transformed together.
Through worship, outreach, and everyday acts of kindness, we reflect Christ’s call to love our neighbors freely and fully and work for peace in a world that longs for healing.
On behalf of the Central Congregation Council,
Rexanne Spicer, Congregation President
You are welcome. No exceptions.
Central Lutheran Church experiences God’s expansive love and strives to share it abundantly. We affirm all people without regard to age, race, biological sex, housing status, ethnicity, sexual orientation, immigration, refugee or migration status, gender identity or expression, socioeconomic status, and physical or mental health or ability. All are a part of God’s family, created in God’s image.
We strive to practice radical hospitality with all people. Everyone is invited to immerse themselves in the life of this community of faith as we explore the promise of God for all.

Central Lutheran Church is a Reconciling in Christ congregation.
