DESCRIPTION:Saturday evening worship is a contemplative communion service. Whichever pastor is preaching on Sunday\, preaches and leads worship on Saturday night. The service is guided by a contemplative sense: a slower pace\, room for silence\, and a simpler service order. The altar is on the main floor\, and much of the music is led from a piano within the gathered community. The service is generally about 45 minutes long\, with 40-50 people regularly gathering. DESCRIPTION:The 8:30 a.m. Sunday worship is an intimate “First Light” service with Holy Communion. It features hymns and the Word\, musically enriched by vocal soloists. A member of the congregation serves as the assistant minister. The service is based on Lutheran liturgy (service order) and hymn singing. DESCRIPTION:Join us to hear the bells of Central’s Carillon tower\, played by artists from around the country. The concerts can be heard outside on the north plaza in front of the church\, or indoors\, where they will be video livestreamed. Central’s carillon of 47 bells is one of only three in Minnesota. DESCRIPTION:Saturday evening worship is a contemplative communion service. Whichever pastor is preaching on Sunday\, preaches and leads worship on Saturday night. The service is guided by a contemplative sense: a slower pace\, room for silence\, and a simpler service order. The altar is on the main floor\, and much of the music is led from a piano within the gathered community. The service is generally about 45 minutes long\, with 40-50 people regularly gathering. It is a full communion service led by the Casavant organ or the piano. One of the pastors preaches\, and another presides for worship and communion. A member of the congregation serves as the assistant minister. The service is based on Lutheran liturgy (service order) and hymn singing. The service lasts about 50 minutes\, and generally\, 60-70 people attend. Following worship\, there is coffee and cookie fellowship time in the Great Room. DESCRIPTION:Starlight\, starbright – who’s behind those lights so bright? \nThis summer’s VBS theme will focus on the night skies. Exploring creation\, we will turn our imaginations toward the stars and read Bible stories that call our attention to the twinkling lights in the sky. While the Earth has changed throughout history\, the skies at night have largely remained the same\, at least to our eyes. God speaks of the stars to Abraham and Job\, and the wisemen are guided to baby Jesus by the Star of Bethlehem. \nAll children ages three to twelve are invited to this year’s VBS Sundays! Congregation members serve as the assisting minister and the lesson readers. A time for children is offered during the service. The service lasts 65 minutes\, and generally 250-300 people attend. Following worship\, there is a community meal served for all. \nIn the summer\, there are scheduled food trucks on some weekends. DESCRIPTION:Join us to hear the bells of Central’s Carillon tower\, played by artists from around the country. The concerts can be heard outside on the north plaza in front of the church\, or indoors\, where they will be video livestreamed. Central’s carillon of 47 bells is one of only three in Minnesota. The other two are at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester (56 bells) and House of Hope Presbyterian Church in Saint Paul (49 bells). DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join the Listening for God contemplative prayer group at any time. The group gathers each second Sunday of the month at 12:30 p.m. Pastor Peter leads this prayer gathering grounded in various contemplative prayer practices. Each month a practice is introduced and then experienced. For those that wish to share\, we pause to reflect on the experience and how God is present. It is also a time when you do not need to share anything\, simply be present for this time of prayer. We gather in the prayer space in the back corner of the sanctuary and wrap up by 1:30 p.m.

DESCRIPTION:The Augsburg Central Health Commons\nAnyone looking for diapers\, hygiene supplies\, one-on-one nurse consultations\, or just to have a place to sit and rest are welcome. Volunteers often spend time visiting with members of the community\, distributing donations\, and setting up the space. Faculty\, students\, and volunteers also provide basic care such as blood pressure checks or basic foot care. The hope is that the moments here can allow guests to address their health needs as they deem necessary\, and the work can lead to addressing health inequities and foster healing.
