DESCRIPTION:Saturday evening worship is a contemplative communion service. Whichever pastor is preaching on Sunday\, preaches and leads worship on Saturday night. The service is guided by a contemplative sense: a slower pace\, room for silence\, and a simpler service order. The altar is on the main floor\, and much of the music is led from a piano within the gathered community. The service is generally about 45 minutes long\, with 40-50 people regularly gathering. DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join the Listening for God contemplative prayer group at any time. The group gathers each second Sunday of the month at 12:30 p.m. Pastor Peter leads this prayer gathering grounded in various contemplative prayer practices. Each month a practice is introduced and then experienced. For those that wish to share\, we pause to reflect on the experience and how God is present. It is also a time when you do not need to share anything\, simply be present for this time of prayer. DESCRIPTION:The Augsburg Central Health Commons\nAnyone looking for diapers\, hygiene supplies\, one-on-one nurse consultations\, or just to have a place to sit and rest are welcome. Volunteers often spend time visiting with members of the community\, distributing donations\, and setting up the space. Faculty\, students\, and volunteers also provide basic care such as blood pressure checks or basic foot care. The hope is that the moments here can allow guests to address their health needs as they deem necessary\, and the work can lead to addressing health inequities and foster healing.

DESCRIPTION:StreetSong MN Choir \nWho: Persons ‘experienced’ in homelessness – i.e. persons currently or formerly homeless\, and those who care about them.\nRehearsal time: Mondays\, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.\nContact: Katie Dillon\, Director of Align Minneapolis \nStreetSong draws on the experiences\, hopes\, and aspirations of its members to produce a choral experience promoting personal fulfillment and the development of community. A meal is available prior to rehearsal\, and bus tokens are provided. The choir has appeared at the Central Library in downtown Minneapolis\, the Mall of America as part of its Holiday Music Festival\, the annual Homeless Memorial March and Service and at various churches and mosques. In April 2016\, StreetSong MN performed at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts.

DESCRIPTION:After a 10-year absence\, we are going to experiment with a Wednesday night learning time for our high school students. In addition to our Sunday morning fellowship time\, we are planning to meet on the 3rd Wednesday night of each month to learn about and discuss the church’s role in our young people’s lives. We will tend to the big questions about faith\, a life centered in Christ\, and the ways in which we are called to love and serve our neighbors. \nWe will begin the season on Wednesday\, October 22 at 7 p.m. (This is the 4th Wednesday in order to avoid MEA; all other Wednesdays will follow the 3rd Wednesday rule.) Healthy snacks will be provided\, and we will meet from 7 – 8:30 p.m.
