Faculty\, students\, and volunteers also provide basic care such as blood pressure checks or basic foot care. The hope is that the moments here can allow guests to address their health needs as they deem necessary\, and the work can lead to addressing health inequities and foster healing.

DESCRIPTION:The 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship has the largest attendance. During the program year (September–May)\, this is a choir-led festive service with Holy Communion. It is a communion service rooted in Lutheran liturgy and hymns. One of the pastors preaches\, and another presides for worship. Congregation members serve as the assisting minister and the lesson readers. A time for children is offered during the service. The service lasts 65 minutes\, and generally 250-300 people attend. Following worship\, there is a community meal served for all. \nIn the summer\, there are scheduled food trucks on some weekends. DESCRIPTION:Saturday evening worship is a contemplative communion service. Whichever pastor is preaching on Sunday\, preaches and leads worship on Saturday night. The service is guided by a contemplative sense: a slower pace\, room for silence\, and a simpler service order. The altar is on the main floor\, and much of the music is led from a piano within the gathered community. The service is generally about 45 minutes long\, with 40-50 people regularly gathering. DESCRIPTION:“Stories of Home” shapes our fall generosity appeal this year. The promise that God’s home is with us and our home is in God brings comfort and hope in complex times. Gerhard Frost\, a Lutheran poet and writer of the last century\, taught the importance of “homing in the presence of God.” Reflecting on what it means that our home is in God\, Frost wrote\, “God offers himself to us; we\, in turn\, share what we receive from him. This is the meaning of the Christian story. In a graceful cycle of faith\, we move from God to each other and back to God again. Our movement is both personal and communal. It binds together the past and future\, and through it we come together in the presence of the Father\, Son\, and Spirit” (Homing in the Presence\, 121). \nBelow\, you will find the Stories of Home brochure and the Ways to Give sheet. The faith promise intention card is in the brochure as a tear-off page. The Ways to Give sheet is an added resource as you plan to fulfill the intention that you will make to God as an act of worship on Saturday\, November 22\, or Sunday\, November 23. SUMMARY:High School Youth Night
DESCRIPTION:After a 10-year absence\, we are going to experiment with a Wednesday night learning time for our high school students. In addition to our Sunday morning fellowship time\, we are planning to meet on the 3rd Wednesday night of each month to learn about and discuss the church’s role in our young people’s lives. We will tend to the big questions about faith\, a life centered in Christ\, and the ways in which we are called to love and serve our neighbors. \nWe will begin the season on Wednesday\, October 22 at 7 p.m. (This is the 4th Wednesday in order to avoid MEA; all other Wednesdays will follow the 3rd Wednesday rule.) Healthy snacks will be provided\, and we will meet from 7 – 8:30 p.m.
