DESCRIPTION:The Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is thrilled to welcome back MSO artistic collaborator and gifted storyteller\, Kevin Kling\, for a performance of his enchanting “The Twelve Dancing Princesses\,” commissioned by the MSO in 2019.  Victor Zupanc’s music masterfully brings this fun-loving story to life. \nThis will be a magical experience for all who attend! We are pleased to feature well-known New York City singer/actress\, Emily Kristen Morris\, singing “Let it Go” from Frozen. Kids won’t want to miss this! Sticking with the Royal theme\, we’ll also perform dance music from Alexander Borodin’s Prince Igor and the exhilarating “In the Hall of the Mountain King” from Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt\, among other “royal” tunes\, including Steven Amundson’s regal Fanfare for the King of Norway. \nFor those of you budding young conductors\, ages 6 – 12\, we’ll once again have a friendly competition for the chance to conduct the orchestra in one short piece.  Plus\, following the concert\, kids will have the exciting opportunity to participate in an Instrument Petting Zoo!  All who are young or young at heart are invited to join the fun!

DESCRIPTION:The Augsburg Central Health Commons\nAnyone looking for diapers\, hygiene supplies\, one-on-one nurse consultations\, or just to have a place to sit and rest are welcome. Volunteers often spend time visiting with members of the community\, distributing donations\, and setting up the space. Faculty\, students\, and volunteers also provide basic care such as blood pressure checks or basic foot care. The hope is that the moments here can allow guests to address their health needs as they deem necessary\, and the work can lead to addressing health inequities and foster healing.

Each week of the month\, worship has its own flavor\, from testimony times and healing services to confession and forgiveness and Holy Communion. Music is led by members of the worshipping community. The Pastor for Community generally leads worship\, though some weeks there is a guest preacher or one of the other pastors may preach and lead worship. SUMMARY:High School Youth Night
DESCRIPTION:After a 10-year absence\, we are going to experiment with a Wednesday night learning time for our high school students. In addition to our Sunday morning fellowship time\, we are planning to meet on the 3rd Wednesday night of each month to learn about and discuss the church’s role in our young people’s lives. We will tend to the big questions about faith\, a life centered in Christ\, and the ways in which we are called to love and serve our neighbors. \nWe will begin the season on Wednesday\, October 22 at 7 p.m. (This is the 4th Wednesday in order to avoid MEA; all other Wednesdays will follow the 3rd Wednesday rule.) Healthy snacks will be provided\, and we will meet from 7 – 8:30 p.m.

A wide variety of music is sung\, from Palestrina and Bach to global music and spirituals. Good music reading abilities are extremely helpful. There are no auditions. DESCRIPTION:The Augsburg Central Health Commons\nAnyone looking for diapers\, hygiene supplies\, one-on-one nurse consultations\, or just to have a place to sit and rest are welcome. Volunteers often spend time visiting with members of the community\, distributing donations\, and setting up the space. Faculty\, students\, and volunteers also provide basic care such as blood pressure checks or basic foot care. The hope is that the moments here can allow guests to address their health needs as they deem necessary\, and the work can lead to addressing health inequities and foster healing.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday evening worship is a contemplative communion service. Whichever pastor is preaching on Sunday\, preaches and leads worship on Saturday night. The service is guided by a contemplative sense: a slower pace\, room for silence\, and a simpler service order. The altar is on the main floor\, and much of the music is led from a piano within the gathered community. The service is generally about 45 minutes long\, with 40-50 people regularly gathering. DESCRIPTION:The 8:30 a.m. Sunday worship is an intimate “First Light” service with Holy Communion. It features hymns and the Word\, musically enriched by vocal soloists. It is a full communion service led by the Casavant organ or the piano. One of the pastors preaches\, and another presides for worship and communion. A member of the congregation serves as the assistant minister. The service is based on Lutheran liturgy (service order) and hymn singing. The service lasts about 50 minutes\, and generally\, 60-70 people attend. Following worship\, there is coffee and cookie fellowship time in the Great Room.
