DESCRIPTION:The 8:30 a.m. Sunday worship is an intimate “First Light” service with Holy Communion. It features hymns and the Word\, musically enriched by vocal soloists. It is a full communion service led by the Casavant organ or the piano. One of the pastors preaches\, and another presides for worship and communion. A member of the congregation serves as the assistant minister. The service is based on Lutheran liturgy (service order) and hymn singing. The service lasts about 50 minutes\, and generally\, 60-70 people attend. Following worship\, there is coffee and cookie fellowship time in the Great Room. DESCRIPTION:Another place in which adult formation is nurtured by story is through the monthly Empowering Conversations. \nEmpowering Conversations occurs on the third Sunday of the month\, following the community meal. A guest speaker is invited to come share stories about our community and the things that we and our neighbors are facing. Generally\, those gathered are invited into discussion on the topic. \nFebruary Empowering Conversations\nJoin us for a unique Empowering Conversations as we welcome artist Sean Garrison. Sean Garrison is known for his live painting events\, in which he creates an abstract painting in the presence of a group of people. Mr. Garrison’s art is currently on display here at Central. For this Empowering Conversations\, he will talk with us about his call and his process to create art as a spiritual practice.

DESCRIPTION:The Augsburg Central Health Commons\nAnyone looking for diapers\, hygiene supplies\, one-on-one nurse consultations\, or just to have a place to sit and rest are welcome. Volunteers often spend time visiting with members of the community\, distributing donations\, and setting up the space. Faculty\, students\, and volunteers also provide basic care such as blood pressure checks or basic foot care. The hope is that the moments here can allow guests to address their health needs as they deem necessary\, and the work can lead to addressing health inequities and foster healing.

DESCRIPTION:You are invited to help us fill the Great Room at Central on Saturday\, January 24 at 10 a.m. for the 2026 Winter Family Festival. Designed with children in mind\, there will be a bouncy house\, face painting\, balloon art\, and dancing\, all in an attempt to chase away the winter blues and give families an opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled day at church in the spirit of holy and healthy play. This year we are adding games and a craft station for kids to play and create while having fun with their friends and peers at church. If you’ve not attended this family-fun event in the past\, join us! It will bring out the kid in you.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday evening worship is a contemplative communion service. Whichever pastor is preaching on Sunday\, preaches and leads worship on Saturday night. The service is guided by a contemplative sense: a slower pace\, room for silence\, and a simpler service order. The altar is on the main floor\, and much of the music is led from a piano within the gathered community. The service is generally about 45 minutes long\, with 40-50 people regularly gathering. DESCRIPTION:The 8:30 a.m. Sunday worship is an intimate “First Light” service with Holy Communion. It features hymns and the Word\, musically enriched by vocal soloists. It is a full communion service led by the Casavant organ or the piano. One of the pastors preaches\, and another presides for worship and communion. A member of the congregation serves as the assistant minister. The service is based on Lutheran liturgy (service order) and hymn singing. The service lasts about 50 minutes\, and generally\, 60-70 people attend. Following worship\, there is coffee and cookie fellowship time in the Great Room. Congregation members serve as the assisting minister and the lesson readers. A time for children is offered during the service. The service lasts 65 minutes\, and generally 250-300 people attend. Following worship\, there is a community meal served for all. \nIn the summer\, there are scheduled food trucks on some weekends.
