DESCRIPTION:The 8:30 a.m. Sunday worship is an intimate “First Light” service with Holy Communion. It features hymns and the Word\, musically enriched by vocal soloists. It is a full communion service led by the Casavant organ or the piano. One of the pastors preaches\, and another presides for worship and communion. A member of the congregation serves as the assistant minister. The service is based on Lutheran liturgy (service order) and hymn singing. The service lasts about 50 minutes\, and generally\, 60-70 people attend. Following worship\, there is coffee and cookie fellowship time in the Great Room. DESCRIPTION:The 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship has the largest attendance. During the program year (September–May)\, this is a choir-led festive service with Holy Communion. It is a communion service rooted in Lutheran liturgy and hymns. One of the pastors preaches\, and another presides for worship. Congregation members serve as the assisting minister and the lesson readers. A time for children is offered during the service. The service lasts 65 minutes\, and generally 250-300 people attend. Following worship\, there is a community meal served for all. \nIn the summer\, there are scheduled food trucks on some weekends. DESCRIPTION:Monday’s worship service is grounded in community and followed by a community meal. Each week of the month\, worship has its own flavor\, from testimony times and healing services to confession and forgiveness and Holy Communion. Music is led by members of the worshipping community. The Pastor for Community generally leads worship\, though some weeks there is a guest preacher or one of the other pastors may preach and lead worship. This service is held in the Great Room and has 25-40 participants who gather within the Monday community ministry flow. This service is not livestreamed. \n

DESCRIPTION:This year\, the journey of Lent will be guided by the theme “Common Elements of Home.” Expanding on this year’s program theme\, “Stories of Home\,” we will be grounded in Martin Luther’s reflections on the Sacraments from the Small Catechism. We will also reflect on the ways we understand the common elements of home during the Lenten midweek worship at noon\, which is followed by a soup-and-salad lunch. \nThis service begins at noon and is 30-40 minutes\, followed by lunch. DESCRIPTION:Saturday evening worship is a contemplative communion service. Whichever pastor is preaching on Sunday\, preaches and leads worship on Saturday night. The service is guided by a contemplative sense: a slower pace\, room for silence\, and a simpler service order. The altar is on the main floor\, and much of the music is led from a piano within the gathered community. The service is generally about 45 minutes long\, with 40-50 people regularly gathering. SUMMARY:Candlelight Vigil
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to a candlelight vigil for lament and healing. We will gather at the baptismal font for a short time of prayer\, lament\, and hope\, as well as singing and candle lighting. We will then go out to the north plaza to let our lights shine\, enjoy social time\, and care for one another. These past months have been a lot\, with many emotions and challenges. Come for a time to name the challenges\, return to the hopeful promise of baptism\, and give thanks that God’s home with us.
