SUMMARY:A Royal Treat: MSO Family Concert
DESCRIPTION:The Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is thrilled to welcome back MSO artistic collaborator and gifted storyteller\, Kevin Kling\, for a performance of his enchanting “The Twelve Dancing Princesses\,” commissioned by the MSO in 2019.  Victor Zupanc’s music masterfully brings this fun-loving story to life. \nThis will be a magical experience for all who attend! We are pleased to feature well-known New York City singer/actress\, Emily Kristen Morris\, singing “Let it Go” from Frozen. Kids won’t want to miss this! Sticking with the Royal theme\, we’ll also perform dance music from Alexander Borodin’s Prince Igor and the exhilarating “In the Hall of the Mountain King” from Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt\, among other “royal” tunes\, including Steven Amundson’s regal Fanfare for the King of Norway. \nFor those of you budding young conductors\, ages 6 – 12\, we’ll once again have a friendly competition for the chance to conduct the orchestra in one short piece.  Plus\, following the concert\, kids will have the exciting opportunity to participate in an Instrument Petting Zoo!  All who are young or young at heart are invited to join the fun!

DESCRIPTION:The Central Cares for Creation (C3) Team will be celebrating Earth Month by offering a way for you to recycle your old electronics and cords and by shredding any paper documents you no longer need. The bins for e-waste recycling will be on the loading dock on Saturday\, April 18 and Sunday\, April 19. The paper shredding bins will be inside the church starting that weekend and remaining for about a month. We offer these opportunities because we believe caring for our planet is a responsibility God gave to the first people and it has been passed down through the ages to us. By recycling these items we keep them out of landfills and reclaim their materials and energy for more use. DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, November 8 is a big day at Central. We are hosting a Hennepin County Fix-It Clinic from noon to 4 p.m. The C3 (Central Cares for Creation) Team has been planning for this event for years and is so excited to finally host! \nFix-It Clinics offer free\, guided assistance from volunteers with repair skills to disassemble\, troubleshoot\, and (hopefully) fix small household appliances\, clothing\, electronics\, mobile devices\, and more. Fix-It Clinics teach valuable troubleshooting and basic repair skills\, build community connections\, and reduce the number of repairable items that are thrown in the trash. \nThe Clinic will take up the entire Great Room and will bring in hundreds of folks. Please consider helping that day (more info in the Spirit as we get closer) or plan on bringing your favorite toaster that just needs a new cord for a little fix-it action.
