SUMMARY:Fall Prayer Retreat
DESCRIPTION:“Stories of Home” is the theme for this program year here at Central. The fall prayer retreat will pick up on this theme and provide an opportunity to explore what it means that we are home in the presence of God. The retreat will be a half-day experience on Sunday\, October 12\, beginning at 12:30 p.m. and concluding by 4:30 p.m. \nPastor Kathie and Pastor Peter will lead contemplative prayer sessions for us as we explore the ways prayer grounds and “homes” us in God. Save the day and time frame and watch for more details in the Spirit in September. This prayer retreat is free and supported by the Prayer Ministry Team.

DESCRIPTION:Join Pastors Melissa\, Peter\, and Stephanie for the fall’s Bible study on Stories of Home in Scripture. The season begins on October 1 at 6 p.m. This offering is available both in person and online\, so join us in whatever setting is best for you. The first four-week session will explore the stories of home in the Hebrew Scriptures or Old Testament. The second four-week session shifts to the New Testament where we will see that Jesus\, while here to live and dwell among us\, never really had a home of his own. \nJoin us as we read and study the many ways we find our home in community and in Jesus Christ. DESCRIPTION:The Global Mission Team is working on a wonderful weekend with our global partners\, Lutheran Health Care Bangladesh (LHCB). On October 18-20\, we will welcome Granar Marek and Rebecca Quiah\, representatives of the LHCB Board of Directors and the Rev. Franklin Ishida and the Rev. Dr. Chandran Martin from the ELCA’s office for Asia and the Pacific. \nThis year marks the 30th anniversary of Central’s partnership with LHCB. We will celebrate our long-term partnership and cast a vision for the future for what our continued relationship may look like in the years to come. \nDuring LHCB’s visit to the Twin Cities\, our guests will gather with the Global Mission Team\, enjoy a reunion dinner with the group from Central who traveled to Bangladesh in 2018\, and visit other ministry partners and potential partners. Dr. Marek and Mrs. Quiah will be with us throughout Global Mission Weekend for worship. In lieu of the Global Ministry Fair\, we encourage everyone to attend a learning opportunity with our guests at the Adult Forum and Empowering Conversations.
