Donate Christmas Plants

You are invited to continue the tradition of bringing beauty and cheer to our sanctuary by purchasing a *cuetlaxochitl. The cost this year is $15. To purchase a plant in honor or memory of a loved one, complete the online form or pick up a paper form at the Welcome Desk now through December 15. Payments can be made by cash or check at the Welcome Desk or by online payment.

*The Indigenous Nahuatl name for the plant we call “poinsettia.” Cuetlaxochitl (kwet-la-sho-she) was brought to the U.S. by Joel Poinsett in 1828. His legacy as a slave owner and his role in the displacement of countless Indigenous Americans has led some people today to reject the name “poinsettia” in favor of the plant’s Indigenous name.

The cost this year is $15 per plant. To purchase a plant in honor or memory of a loved one, complete the online form or pick up a paper form at the Welcome Desk. Payments can be made in one of two ways; by check at the Welcome Desk or by online payment through the website.

By Check: If you prefer to write a check, please make it payable to Central Lutheran Church, 333 S. 12th Street Minneapolis, MN 55404. Please write "Christmas Plants" on the memo line of your check. Please indicate on the online form that you will be sending in your check.

Online: Use the "Give Today" button at the top right of the page and complete your request by typing $15 under the amount heading. Then click on the downward-facing triangle at the end of the "Fund line" and click on "poinsettias" Click on "Continue" and complete the process with your name and payment information.
