Carillon Concerts

Summer Carillon Concert Schedule

Central is blessed to have one of the three carillons in the state of Minnesota (the other two are at Mayo Clinic and House of Hope Presbyterian in St. Paul). This summer, we are pleased to host five carillon concerts for you to enjoy. Three concerts will follow Sunday’s 10:30 a.m. worship and will include a food truck offering as part of the event. Two of the concerts will follow Saturday night worship and will include happy hour. Some of these concerts will be in collaboration with House of Hope Presbyterian as we share in the work to host a world-class carillonneur. Our first concert will include an opportunity to see the carillon in action up close, demonstrated by our very own Tim Short! For now, save these dates and plan to attend these 30–40-minute carillon concerts here at Central:

1. Sunday, June 30, noon: Tim Short, House of Hope Presbyterian (St. Paul) and Central Lutheran Church. This concert/demonstration will include an opportunity to go up and see the Carillon in action. The food truck will be KCM Egg Rolls.
2. Saturday, July 6, 6 p.m.: Jennifer Lory-Moran, Cornell University
3. Sunday, July 14, noon: Wade Fitzgerald, Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (Bloomington) The food truck will be Potter’s Pasties.
4. Saturday, July 20, 6 p.m.: CANCELLED
5. Sunday, August 4, noon: Austin Ferguson, Mayo Clinic. The food truck will be Tot Boss.

Bell Tower Tours

Carillon tours are being offered this summer on days Central is also hosting carillon concerts.  Each tour will be about 25 minutes and leaves promptly at the announced time so we can complete our tour around the worship schedule. To participate you should be able to walk six flights of stairs without assistance. Athletic or flat-soled shoes are best. Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult and if they can climb the stairs on their own. Inclement weather or storm warnings can cause cancellations. There will be limited space on these tours, so show up early to make sure you get a spot!
