This fall we return to the annual generosity appeal. As we continue to emerge from the pandemic, it is time to recommit returning to God what God has first given to us. It is always a response to what God has first done in and through God’s Word. As we prepare, a devotional will guide us and invite us to dwell in God’s Word. The Word does not return empty, for this we give thanks.
The Generosity Team invites you to begin your prayerful preparation as we look to intention weekend on December 11/12. The devotional to guide us begins on Global Mission weekend, November 13/14. Fellow members have written daily devotionals, and, on the weekend, the narrative lesson will ground us in God’s Word. Pastor Peter will lead two forums on Sunday mornings, December 5 and 12. He will invite us to ponder God’s Word, generosity, and the wonder of Advent. Invitations and reminders will follow on weekends in worship. For now, please note these key dates as we give thanks that “God’s Word does not return empty.”
- November 27/28 – Pick up Intention Packets at the welcome desk.
- December 4/5 – Special Adult Forum at 9:30 a.m.
- December 11/12 – Faith Promise Intention weekend, with special Adult Forum at 9:30 a.m.
Thank you for your faithfulness and remarkable generosity. You are a blessing to family, friends, Central Lutheran and so many in our community and around the world. God’s word, God’s blessings, in your life do not return empty.
