Wedding Planning Guidance, Central Lutheran Church

Congratulations on your engagement!  You are at the beginning of an important journey, and we are honored that you want Central to share in your joy on the day of your wedding.

How do I request a wedding date?

To request a wedding date, return a completed Marriage Request to Jeni Hill, Executive Assistant.  It is helpful to read the Wedding Planning Guide before completing the request form.  This guide details all of our policies and procedures.  Members and non-members may request a wedding date no earlier than a year before a requested date.  For example, Central could not confirm the wedding date of September 29th, 2010 until September 29th, 2009 at the earliest.  Please be advised that dates requested less than six months in advance seldom make it into our calendar of events.

Central does not accept wedding date requests from representatives of couples; requests must come directly from the bride and/or groom.

How much does it cost to get married at Central?

Members: $1,100 ($300 deposit)

Non-members: $1,600 ($400 deposit)

The member wedding fee will apply when one or both parties getting married through Central are members at the time the date/deposit have been confirmed.  The non-refundable deposit secures a date.  This wedding fee includes honorarias for the assigned Central pastor musician, wedding coordinator, security, custodian, parking for your guests, and use of facilities for the rehearsal and wedding.

Can visiting pastors and/or musicians participate in my wedding?

Visiting pastors and musicians may participate at the discretion of your assigned Central pastor and musician.  The flat fee does not change if you include a guest pastor and/or musician, and separate honoraria to guest participants are the responsibility of the wedding couple.

Will I need to complete pre-marital counseling?

Yes.  Central offers the PREPARE inventory every other month.  This inventory is fundamental to the pre-marital counseling sessions (usually 3) with your assigned Pastor.  You must take the inventory at least four months before your wedding date.  In some situations, pre-marital counseling may be completed using another counselor or pastor.

If you are interested in scheduling a wedding at Central, please read the Wedding Planning Guide and fill out the Marriage Request Form.
