Central's Ministry Teams are the backbone of our life of service.
Clustered according to our mission to Celebrate, Discover and Share the love of Christ,
there are 60 teams with service opportunities for gifts of all kinds.
Global Mission
Purpose:
The Global Mission Ministry Team are to be servants of Jesus Christ, Lord of the Church, through whom He can call, gather, enlighten and involve the members of Central Lutheran Church in His continuing mission to the world.
Commitment of CLC to Christ’s mission in the world is not one among many worthy programs, but a core expression of Christian faith around which all else is to revolve. The confession of Jesus as Risen Lord leads to world mission…the level of congregational vitality in service of Christ’s movement into the world determines the level of dynamism in all spheres of its domestic life.
The Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20) concludes with a promise to those who take it seriously: "And lo, I am with you always to the close of the age." The presence of the risen Lord is the source of congregational vitality in all its expressions. And the conscious enjoyment of the presence of the risen Lord is closely related to participation in His continuing mission in the world.
We believe that this brief statement contains vital affirmations worthy of reflection.
It is noteworthy that the pulpit at Central Lutheran Church prominently displays an engraving of The Great Commission. This is an expression of the VISION and sense of MISSION of the founders of Central. It was their vision that the Word of God, proclaimed from the pulpit, will to go out to the congregation, across the street and around the world. They recognized that true worship is inseparable from acceptance of the supreme authority of Jesus. Worship of Jesus as the Christ involves us in His continuing mission to the world.
