Lay Ministry at Central

A healthy congregation can be defined as one in which everyone in the community is engaged through the recognition of his or her own unique gifts and considers opportunities to share these gifts for the good of others.

As we recognize and share our gifts, we are deepening them for ourselves, so that they may continue to be used where needed throughout our lives and the life of our community. This is really what Shared Ministry means. Clergy and lay ministers working together, using their unique gifts to be God’s hands and do the work that God has identified as needed for the world.

Central’s lay ministers are nurtured, trained, supported and recognized as they use their gifts in ministry to create this healthy community. God has gifted this congregation with more than enough people and gifts to accomplish its mission to “to celebrate, discover, and share the love of Christ.”
