Ninth Sunday after Pentecost - The Sower and the Seed
Through the gifts of many, the Central Lutheran Foundation provides vital financial support to the ministry of Central Lutheran Church. Established with an initial bequest in 1942 of one thousand dollars in a member’s will, the Foundation continues to provide energy and financial resources to Central Lutheran Church as it lives out its mission to celebrate, discover, and share the love of Christ in the city and the world beyond.
The Foundation is a non profit corporation governed by a Board of Trustees who are members of Central Lutheran Church. Working collaboratively with the Senior Pastor and leadership of Central Lutheran Church, the Foundation’s purpose is to receive gifts, to hold the principle of such gifts in perpetuity and to give the income growth of these gifts to Central Lutheran Church.
Currently through gifts and investment growth the Foundation’s assets exceed fourteen million dollars and provide about $650,000 annually to support the overall mission and benevolence goals of the congregation. Through the direction of the Board of Trustees, Central Lutheran Foundation funds are professionally managed by GS Investments, Inc. in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Gifts of any amount are welcome. You may make gifts with cash, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, life insurance, real estate, and personal property. Your gift may be given in different ways:
- Bequest made as part of your will or living trust
- Memorial in memory of family and friends
- Cash donation
- Gift in honor of family and friends
- Planned gift through charitable annuities or trusts
- Beneficiary designation through life insurance
- Planned gifts by means of retirement fund assets
All giving is unique to the donor’s situation. For more information about giving to the Foundation contact the Foundation Office at Central Lutheran at 612-767-9240.
Each year Central receives a distribution gift from the Foundation which helps sustain and enhance the many ministry programs of the congregation. As the fund’s principle grows through your gifts, the greater is the support for the work of the church.
Most importantly, you may celebrate the joy in giving as a steward of God’s gifts. Your gift will help perpetuate God’s work even beyond your lifetime. Also you may benefit from tax deductions related to your charitable giving.
Central’s Legacy Partners are members and friends of Central Lutheran Church who have made a commitment to include the Central Lutheran Foundation in their estate planning or planned giving. Their purpose is to celebrate and encourage others in their “legacy giving” to Central.
