Journey with us toward a meaningful Easter
Lent is a time to renew our lives individually and as a community
our 40-day journey began on Ash Wednesday, February 17
The word “Lent” comes from the Old English word for spring—a time of rebirth. The Lenten practice of repentance—turning around, starting anew—can lead to rebirth and renewal of our lives individually and as a community. The music, readings and sermons of our Sundays in Lent will provide a rich tapestry of themes and images that will help us renew and live out our
our baptismal identities.
Six Sundays Beginning February 21
Worship at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m.

Christianity is, at its heart, a meal fellowship. At the center of our life together is a table. When Jesus eats with people their lives are changed. Each Thursday in Lent we’ll gather, eat a little together—either soup at lunch or appetizers in the evening—and explore scriptural images of “dining” in the Kingdom of God. There will also be a half-hour worship experience in the sanctuary.
February 25, March 4, 11, 18 and 25
Noontime: 11:30 - “Exploring the Images;” 12:00 - Responsive Prayer; 12:30 - Soup Lunch
Evening: 6:00 - Appetizers; 6:20 - “Exploring the Images;” 7:00 - Prayers around the Cross

Central’s Family Ministries invites you to “Just Add 5” for Lent! Central is launching “The Faith 5” (Faith Acts in the Home) beginning in Lent by asking families to take a mere five minutes at the end of the day to talk about “highs and lows” of the day—the first of the five acts. This is a faith-centered, life-changing model for your family to connect on a new level. Faith starts in the home and will grow in the home. Training to implement the full program will begin in the spring.
for lent, don’t give something up . . . just add 5!
