Children & Family Ministry!
The Children & Family Ministry Team invites you to learn about the variety of ways your family can be involved and spiritually nurtured at Central Lutheran Church. We celebrate families of all types and know that God speaks to us in and through our children. We encourage you to join in one or more of our present ministries. We also hope you will suggest new ideas that are of interest to you. We meet regularly to advise and coordinate the ministries with families and children. Welcome to Central!
Worship
Children are welcome at worship. We believe children are essential to our worshiping community and we support and encourage children’s participation from the earliest ages. Please know that the nursery is there for those who wish, but it is not an expectation for your children during worship.
Pew Bags & bibles
We hope your children will learn the process of worship while being present. So, we have provided Spark Story Bibles in some pews for your family's enjoyment. The pew bag team has also provided fabric activity bags filled with age-appropriate activities to keep children engaged during worship.
Sunday School
Join us for Sunday morning family gathering time. Pastor Kristen and Greer introduce Bible verses each week and faith stories to children & families from Central’s congregation and community. Music time with Mark Sedio & Jane Lien, to teach new music & songs to be sun in worship. We offer classes for children from 3 years old--Sr. High which focus on teaching the Bible. Enjoy the new SPARK experience. We use SPARK Story Bibles and curriculum.www.activatefaith.org Join us for high-spirited music, puppet shows, games, inspiring education, awesome service projects and snacks. ALL families are welcome, from babies to grandparents and everyone in between! *9:40am-10:45am in room 222
Central invites you and your family to come enjoy summer-long VBS. Music, Bible stories, Games, Dinner and lots of fun! Join with us as we explore God's message through "Baobab Blast" This safari-based curriculum will help teach children and parents what God tells us about: Trust, Love, Following, Caring and Sharing. Find the dates on the calendar. We hope you will join us!
FAMILY CAMP
Family Camp opportunities are available during the summer, fall and spring. We like to invite families to come along with other families and enjoy adventures through: skiing, snow-tubing, hiking, swimming, camp fires, etc. Through these experiences we get to enjoy fellowship with each other and get to know other families. Please consider how much fun this would be for your family. All families are welcome! Meet new friends, have lots of fun and get away from busy life to enjoy time with your family.
NURSERY
Children are always welcome at Central’s worship services. The nursery is provided for your convenience if you choose to use it. It is available for newborns through age three on Sunday mornings and for many special events. A childcare specialist is always present to offer loving care for your child. If you are interested in volunteering to help in the nursery contact Greer.
Cradle Roll
A wonderful curriculum designed by Augsburg Fortress: SPLASH for parents of newborns to incorporate spiritual development into the life of their child(ren). You’ll receive monthly packets of material with ideas for nurturing faith for the next three years.
