The Twin Cities Sustainable Communities Conference  Central and its Congregations Caring for Creation Ministry Team (C3), is proud to host this annual conference, sponsored by the Alliance for Sustainability. Friday, 12:00-5:00 p.m., the Third Annual Local Government Workshop; Saturday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., the Fifth Annual Neighborhood Sustainability Conference. "A Welcoming God,"  with David Weiss, author of "To the Tune of a Welcoming God." Twin Cities Peace with Justice forums, initiated in March 2003, are held at Central one Sunday each month, beginning with lunch at 12:30 p.m., followed by a presentation and discussion. Lunch is available for $7. Forum attendees may park free in Central’s lot. The forums are sponsored by the Joint Peace with Justice Committee of the Minneapolis and Saint Paul Areas Synods, and hosted by Central's Peace with Justice Ministry Team. "Remember Me: Voices of the Silenced in Colombia."  On this National Day of Prayer for Colombia, Rev. John Nunes, President, Lutheran World Relief, will speak about the 50 years of violence and brutality in Colombia that have resulted in tens of thousands of persons who have “gone missing,” and whose voices are silenced. Rev. Nunes is in the Twin Cities to help launch the national tour of the "Gallery of Memory" exhibit, which will be featured at Central from April 18 to May 3.

Colombia Memories Museum,  with Rev. John Nunes, President, Lutheran World Relief. This is an expanded luncheon gathering of the Joint Peace with Justice Committee of the ELCA Minneapolis and St. Paul Area Synods, to commemorate the National Day of Prayer for Colombia, and to launch the 2-year national tour of the exhibit, "Remember Me: Voices of the Silenced in Colombia." The exhibit, or “gallery of memory,” has been created by Lutheran World Relief (LWR) to bring awareness of 50 years of violence and brutality in Colombia--a conflict that has literally affected every social and economic class, every village, and every city. The program will include two women from Colombia, both victims of the violence.
